POETS is the Engineering Society Student Lounge. Located in Carl Pollock Hall 1337, just off of the main foyer, it really is one of the hearts of engineering student life here at Waterloo. Whether you want a place to relax after a long day of lectures, or just want a nice place to sit and eat lunch with your friends, POETS is the place to go. Open most days from 8:30 until 5:30, you can always find it full with people taking a nice break and either watching a movie (three movies each day,) playing a board game (available in the EngSoc office) or having a beer (licensed Friday afternoons.)
It is full of Waterloo Engineering history, including pictures of old events and pranks, past Orientation Week winners and photos, and much much more. It really is a great place to put your feet up when you need a break from the daily grind. So next time you’re on lunch, or just need a 15 minute power-break, why not grab a bite from the Coffee and Donut shop and come say hi to everyone in POETS? (Just remember, C&D is cash only)
