Humour

From The Tin Soldier Staff

A revolution begins with an idea. It can be the simplest idea. It only needs to be an idea that brings people together, a common objective and a goal for the future. We, as The Tin Soldier staff, have seen things that we cannot forget. We must learn from our fallen peers and honor them by forging on in the hopes of a newer, brighter day.

About nine months ago was the anniversary of an event to be remembered in history. A man wished to remind us that in our world, fairness, justice and freedom are perspectives, not just words. In about three more months, November the 5th will return again. I challenge you, no – we challenge you to be bold, to be brave and to inspire change for a fair, just and free thought-provoking forum.

We undoubtedly will be chastised and silenced by our big brother and sister for our actions in publishing this issue of The Tin Solder; however, we feel that it is important to remind everyone of the serious lack of truth and transparency within our community. So if you are unaware of the happenings of the censored world, then I would recommend that you leave November 5th unmarked. However if you see what we see, feel as we feel, and seek as we seek, then we ask you to speak out as we have, in song and dance, and, together, we shall publish a paper that shall never be forgotten.

As a little girl in a red dress once sang:
“The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There’ll be sun!”

And we, your Tin Soldier staff, look forward to a day where we can be proud to stand in the light and sing our own song, where the sun rises today.
