New President… WHA?

Note: This article is hosted here for archival purposes only. It does not necessarily represent the values of the Iron Warrior or Waterloo Engineering Society in the present day.

Hey Engineers!

I hope you are all doing swell. First of all, let me tell you that I am so excited for the next 16 months! After having a few meetings with the new executives, I know that we will be a fantastic team and we have a lot in store for you!

So what have I been doing since I got elected?! So far, I have been transitioning with the current President, Tim Bandura, to learn and understand every single task of the President.  The new Exec have selected Commissioners and they will be ratified at the EngSoc meeting TONIGHT (which is a potluck BTW), so you should attend!

With that being said, DIRECTORSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN! What is a directorship you ask?! Well my fine friend… it’s a volunteer position to run a service or an event within the Engineering Society! It’s a great way to get involved in the Engineering Society, especially if you have never held a position before! What positions are available and how can you apply?! Head to the Engineering Society website (engsoc.uwaterloo.ca), and on the front page, there is an article about directorship applications with links to the directorships page and to the application form. When are they due?! They are due by August 4th at MIDNIGHT, so hurry up and apply!

That’s all for now. I can’t wait to see your lovely faces again in the Winter!
