EngSoc Presidential Nominations: Rachel Malevich

Healthier Minds, Better Opportunities. Intrigued?

I’m Rachel Malevich, from 2B Chemical and I am campaigning to be your next President! I’m really passionate about the role of President since the ideas I have to improve EngSoc do not fit the portfolio of just one VP position. I understand the professionalism and leadership required to be President and I feel that my experience as an Academic Rep, Professional Skills Director, and Huge would be an asset to this role.

As President, my first goal would be to increase the importance of mental health in the Engineering Faculty by introducing class representatives through MATES, a FEDS run program. My next initiative would be to start collaboration between department societies in the Engineering Faculty. I hope that under my Presidency, EngSoc and the department societies could work together on certain services, like professional skills and social events.

As a Director, I worked with CECA and Co-op Living and Learning to create a more realistic and useful interview skills workshop. In doing so, I realized how I could improve the EngSoc professional skills system as a whole. If elected, I intend to implement a full-time professional skills committee to critique resumes and cover letters, share interview techniques, and help with LinkedIn profiles. My full platform includes improving communication, the director handbook, and strategy workshops for Academic Reps. I also hope to increase student deals advertising and to conduct a review on the current policies and bylaws governing EngSoc.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my platform and experience. Please visit my website at www.rachelforengsocpresident.weebly.com for my full platform and to learn more about me. If you have any questions, you can contact me through my website, by email at rachelforengsocpresident@gmail.com, or just approach me on campus! I hope you’ll support my initiatives and vote Rachel Malevich as your next President!
