VP Education – Out with the Old, in with the New

Note: This article is hosted here for archival purposes only. It does not necessarily represent the values of the Iron Warrior or Waterloo Engineering Society in the present day.

Well A-Society, it’s the last edition of the term! I hope you have all enjoyed the term, and hopefully you’ve managed to keep warm. There is just a short time until classes are done, and the joys of the examination period sink in… I would like to wish you all the best of luck, happy studying, a happy co-op term, and maybe most of all, a happy break between final exams and the start of a co-op term!

Over the past few weeks we have experienced our Engineering Society executive campaign and voting periods. If you aren’t aware already, Josh Kalpin won his campaign for the position of Vice-President Education, A-Society. Beginning in May, he will be your VP Ed for the next 16 months. I hope you can help me in congratulating him and wishing him all the best! He will be accompanying me to the various councils that VP Ed sits on over the next few weeks as we begin our transition. Saturday we will be sitting down for a long talk to hand things over, so he can hit the ground running.

I have enjoyed the past 16 months acting as your Vice-President Education. I have definitely learned a lot from this experience, and I hope that I can share some of this with Josh so that he can gain even more from his experience. I wanted to thank you all for your help, and once again, wish you all the success with your studies and where ever they may take you! That being said, I’ll still be around so don’t hesitate to say hello or stop me for a chat if you bump into me around campus!

Here I am, signing off one last time. Cheers everyone, Drew.
