Hello Everyone, my name is Jordan Nickel, and I’m a 3A Mechanical. I am running for the position of WEEF Director for B-stream. I have been involved with EngSoc since my 1B term as a class rep, as well as involvement with several student design teams. I want to run for this position because I have seen the extraordinary impact WEEF has had on student teams and engineering labs.
I want to help contribute to the continuing impact of WEEF. I also want to reinstitute the annual general meetings held by WEEF. I want to do this in order to facilitate communication between engineering students and WEEF, so they can make their voices heard. Another thing I am interested in pursuing is updating and improving the website in order to better communicate where funds are being allocated, how to apply for funding, who WEEF is, and streamlining online proposal submissions. I would also like to increase the visibility of WEEF’s contributions, so that the students can better understand what WEEF provides them in labs, classrooms and student design teams.
WEEF is here to “benefit undergraduate engineering education”, and I believe that its impact in this area is an important facet of being a Waterloo Engineering student. Vote for me to continue this tradition of excellence while striving to improve and streamline the processes.
