VP Student Life Nominations: Tiffany Chang

Hi everyone! My name is Tiffany Chang, and I am running for VP Student Life of the Engineering Society.

As the current Student Services Commissioner, I’m collaborating with our technical workshop directors to ensure that they run successful events. My first co-op was with the Engineering Outreach Office, so I would love to get EngSoc more involved with the community outreach that Waterloo Engineering already has in place. Besides Days at The MUSEUM, it would be awesome to see some of us mentoring young campers. Community outreach is a rewarding experience for both yourself and the students that you impact, so I would love to give everybody a chance to experience it!

Working in outreach has also trained me to represent UW and Waterloo Engineering conscientiously and positively, so I would represent our school and our faculty in the same manner.

As a student who’s still figuring out how to balance academics and the rest of life, I would implement year-round first-year support. Even though a lot of responsibility is on ourselves to adjust to university life, I want future incoming first-years to have access to and be aware of the resources that EngSoc provides to help them adapt.

If my ideas have piqued your interest, you can read my full platform and profile at http://bit.do/tchangforvpsl. If elected as VP Student Life, I would strive to make EngSoc the go-to place where engineering students seek help or have fun.

Thank you so much for having taken the time to read my #MeToWE vision. I hope that I will have your support once the polls open. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at tiffanyyhchang@gmail.com; or if you see me on campus, stop and ask—I will be more than happy to answer them.
