Hey there A-Soc, hope January went great for you! It’s hard to believe that the month is over and we are on to February already. Here’s a quick update on where things are going on the finances front!

Novelties: Novelties is off to a great start this term, and we are looking at getting some new cool items in. Keep an eye out for the old pilsner style pint glasses that Novelties used to carry, and some extra sizes in the new EngSoc logo t-shirt! Coverall Days were a great success and a total of 26 pairs were sold, so thanks to everyone who came out! I will be emailing everyone who ordered a pair once they come in. If you missed out on this term, don’t worry, coveralls will be sold again in the Fall! Be sure to check out all of the sweet patches available in Novelties. As well, there will be a Fire Sale taking place during the week after reading week, so be sure to stop by CPH Foyer and Novelties to get some sweet deals on swag!

Do you like sleeping? Do you like sleeping in pajamas? Do you like sleeping in pajamas that are one? Do you like onesies?! Do you like feetie pajamas? We probably can’t help you with that. However, we can help you with a lot of these things, because ONESIE DAY is coming! We are currently in the process of designing the styles, and will have more information on cost closer to the date. Keep a watch on the EngSoc calendar and mailing list for all the details!

Engineering Capital Improvements Fund (ECIF): The ECIF committee will be meeting on February 25. The goal of ECIF is to make purchases that improve student experiences around Engineering such as POETS and the CPH Foyer. Each term, five per cent of your EngSoc student fee goes towards ECIF’s funds, which is allocated by the committee. We are currently in the process of upgrading POETS and purchasing a new projector. If you have any capital purchase ideas let me know or fill out the form on the EngSoc website (engsoc.uwaterloo.ca/ecif).

Sponsorship: The Sponsorship Committee for the term was elected this past Wednesday at the EngSoc Council Meeting. I will be contacting student teams and clubs, and putting out the call for Sponsorship Proposals within the next week with all of the details on how to apply. If you have any questions about how this fund works, please contact me.

That’s about it for this issue! If you have any finance questions related to the Engineering Society don’t hesitate to talk to me in the EngSoc Office (CPH 1327), or send an email to vpfinance.a@engsoc.uwaterloo.ca!
