The UW Robotics team is an enthusiastic group of graduate and undergraduate students who are passionate about robotics. The Robotics team focuses on unmanned autonomous and tele-operated robotic ground vehicles. This year, the team will be competing in four international robotics competitions for the love of robotics. The four sub-teams are Robot Racing, Mars Rover, IGVC, and NASA Sample Retrieval.

The Robot Racing team transforms a miniature car into an autonomous high speed racer. The Mars Rover team builds a ground vehicle that is tele-operated to perform high precision tasks in a Martian environment. The IGVC team, or Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition, builds an autonomous ground vehicle capable of navigating a complex obstacle course as fast as possible. Finally, The NASA Sample Retrieval team builds a robot that autonomously searches a large, unknown extraterrestrial area for known samples of interest and returns the collected samples to it’s home platform. The team has tasks for all skill levels from those just starting out to the veteran roboticist.
