You read it right, there are so many exciting events planned for this semester that no single word in the English language can convey how sensational it will be! We’ve already had an upbeat BOT party, a Dyson Award info night event, a pair of résumé critique sessions, and an exchange student welcoming. All your favourite engineering events will be running this semester, such as Engplay, TalEng, SCUNT, Genius Bowl, Beach Day, and Semi Formal. Throughout the term, keep an eye out for reoccurring events like arts & photography contests, enginuity competition, and pickup sports events. Remember, every time you or your classmates participate in an EngSoc event, you earn P**5 points. The classes with the three highest point totals at the end of the semester are awarded cash prizes! If you’d like to submit anything on behalf of your class for P**5 points, send an e-mail to: ptothefive@engsoc.uwaterloo.ca.

While having lots of fun events is always a good thing, we’ve also been planning a series of workshops for engineering students to improve their skills. These workshops include: Interview skills, Programming, Getting a Job Outside of Jobmine, and Microsoft Excel. Interview Skills is tomorrow in RCH 307 at 4:30pm, so come brush up with a practice interview, and if you’d like to volunteer, please contact me at: vpinternal.a@engsoc.uwaterloo.ca as soon as possible!

Every Monday, engineering students are invited to hang out at the POETS patio with the EngSoc executive for Iced Tea Mondays. This weekly event is run to encourage students to participate in dialogue with the executive, and of course, enjoy delicious iced tea. This is a good time to approach the exec with any suggestions, ideas, or questions you have about anything pertaining to EngSoc. Also, you can always come to the engineering office during the day to talk to us too.

That’s all for now, so look forward to a fantacular semester, and even more cheesy word-mishmashes in this article in the future!
