Education for You

Note: This article is hosted here for archival purposes only. It does not necessarily represent the values of the Iron Warrior or Waterloo Engineering Society in the present day.

Greetings engineering students! With finals looming in the not too distant future, I don’t plan on taking too much of your time at this point. I would like to introduce myself as your next VP-Education for the Engineering Society. Over the course of these next 16 months I plan to act as your voice for any academic issues that may arise. That being said, I am excited at what the future may bring for our school and faculty.

There has already been a flurry of activity from the incoming executive, myself included. Commissioner interviews have taken place, directorship applications are being read, and my first exec report is being published (that would be this one)!

During my term, I plan on keeping a blog and Twitter feed which will be used to outline the current issues being covered at the meetings I attend. This should allow students who wish to keep up on any changes to their education to do so easily. This should also greatly decrease the size of any reports I make since I can refer to these easily attainable documents. Summary for the win!

Should you have any questions, concerns, comments, or rudimentary designs for an underwater flying space capsule, you can contact me at thompson.dbp@gmail.com. I am excited to work with you and the rest of the new exec team. Here’s to a great 16 months!
