We would first like to say thank you to all the undergraduate engineering students for putting your faith in us as your next VP-External. Mike will be taking the position for the initial eight months, and Lisa will be taking over in the final eight months, but we plan on working together during the entire term to serve the students better. We have already had a busy start, and we are working to get some of the initiatives mentioned in our campaign off the ground. Some of these initiatives require YOUR help, so we encourage you to apply for directorships, which can be found under the VP-External portfolio. Some of the new directorships we have started are: PEO Engineering Competition, Habitat for Humanity, and CFES complementary education courses. They are all new directorships that will give YOU the chance to run new events. These require working with the community, other schools and international partners. Please check the EngSoc website for more information about directorships. Mike and Lisa are already meeting with various groups within the faculty in order to efficiently work with them in the future and are already discussing various outreach initiatives. If the first few weeks of this position are indicators of how the next sixteen months are going to go, then we are very VERY excited to work with the rest of the Exec team in running and improving one of the biggest and best Engineering Societies in the country.
