Presidential Report: Farewell from President Rankin

Note: This article is hosted here for archival purposes only. It does not necessarily represent the values of the Iron Warrior or Waterloo Engineering Society in the present day.

I wanted to take the time to say a final goodbye to everyone here at Waterloo as the outgoing Engineering Society President.

I honestly cannot believe that both the 16 months of being president and my five years here as a student have gone by so fast.

The Engineering Society has meant a lot to me over the past five years, and being your president has drastically changed me as a person. I will forever be glad I held the role. It has honestly given me much more than I could have ever asked for.

I’ve missed everyone I have had the chance to know here at Waterloo, before I was even gone. During the good times we had together as a friends, I was secretly watching the clock wishing it would slow down so I could spend more time here and with all of you.

Everyone I have met here at Waterloo has had an effect on who I am today, and for that I am truly grateful. I want to thank each and every single one of you for everything you have given me, and hopefully the sacrifices I have had to give as your president has paid back even a small amount of the debt I owe you for how you have affected and changed my life for the better.

Thank you so much to everyone I have known here at Waterloo. I am beyond grateful for getting the chance to know you, and I will always remember everything you have done for me.

Thanks,

Scott
