Last (Poem)

It’s a cold and quiet night.

You’re in bed, eyes closed,

Listening to the song of that night,

The night that you finally know.

How many times have you crossed paths,

From a smile, a wave, to having conversations,

You remember her eyes, her laughs,

But not her hidden affection.

She sees the whole world in you,

And she wishes you’d see the stars in her;

Yet your vision did not ensue,

Because in somewhere else, you found your universe.

The night that you finally know,

You kissed her on the lips,

She tried to smile, yet tears rolled down her face, froze

For she knows, she isn’t the one you’d miss.

In this night, amongst the stars of blue,

Of the breaths of the unloved

Remembering is the last thing you could do

For she is the girl you did not love.
