I’ve had a great term as Editor-in-Chief, and this is definitely thanks to the awesome staff I have. While I might tease them and call them my minions, the truth is that I couldn’t have done any of this without them.
First, I would like to thank everyone who wrote articles. In particular, I’d like to thank Dushanth Seevaratnam for writing all the random topics that were shoved at him, and Farzi Yusufali, Anjali Gopal, and Alex Hogeveen Rutter for frequently writing articles on demand – especially when I ended up publishing them in the next issue anyways.
Thanks to Christy for taking minutes at the meetings. Also, thanks to Stuart Linley for the crosswords, and Andrew McMahon for helping out with circulation.
I would like to thank anyone who ever showed up to a production weekend, even if it was only for a couple hours. In particular, I would like to thank Mike Smart and Chris Letnick, who, despite being new to the paper this term, have put an incredible amount of effort into helping with production weekends.
Krishna Iyer has been has been a great (although annoying) layout editor. Thanks for coming in, and for doing proofreading when we’ve shoved that at you too.
Many, many thanks go to Kate and Hans. Between them, they have been my copy editors and circulation managers. They’ve done a great job ensuring that not only the issues are grammatically correct, but also that they’re distributed far and wide.
Even more thanks to Kate for being an amazing advertising manager. She was incredible at pestering people over ads, and I could never have done this without her tireless efforts.
Thanks to Roy and Angelo. Your willingness to pass on advice and suggestions from your experiences as EICs was invaluable.
Thanks to Mary Bland, for all the finances work you do for The Iron Warrior, and your patience with my many questions and requests.
Finally, thanks to Kate for keeping me sane. This may not be an official IW position, but it’s a vital one. Thanks also to Kate, Chris, Hans, and Roy for conspiring to ensure that I’ll pass 4A. I may not appreciate being mutinied against, but my marks (and my lab partners) do.
