BREAKING NEWS: Controversy in the Capital
Breaking news from Ottawa today, lawmakers are debating whether or not the following image depicts a scone or an English muffin.
This morning, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that:
My idea of freedom is that we should protect the rights of people to believe what their conscience dictates, but fight equally hard to protect people from having the beliefs of others imposed upon them, with one exception: this image. This image clearly depicts a scone.
Later in the day, The Honourable Erin O'Toole has this to say on the issue:
In a democratic society, nothing will ever receive unanimous support. The way to deal with this is to empower elected governments and ensure that they answer to voters, who have been adamant that this image depicts an English muffin, not to give a veto to those who are the loudest or most willing to audaciously claim that this is a pineapple.
