Here Comes the Sun (We Hope)

Welcome back, I hope midterms went well! Now that we are in the latter half of the term I thought I would share some more upcoming events that I am excited about!

In the next few weeks, there will be an event for every taste. Whether you’re looking for a professional development activity that will let you add some valuable skills to your resume, to social events and community outreach activities, there is a wide breadth of topics to choose from.

On February 26, the second SolidWorks Workshop of the term will be happening. This is a great chance to spruce up some rusty skills or to add a new line to your resume for continuous round job applications! We will also be running a Soldering Workshop the next week on March 7, if you are looking to gain some more hands-on skills. We will be running the second Resume Critiques event of the term on March 5. With all of your newfound skills, your resume is sure to need a boost and sharing it with upper years is a great way to make that happen.

If you are interested in making a difference in our community, we will be running our termly Blood Runs event on February 27. Join us as we take the trip to donate blood to Canadian Blood Services. If donating blood has you feeling philanthropic, you may also wish to join us on March 5 as we volunteer at the KW Food Bank!

Also, a quick reminder: March is National Engineering Month! This year, we will again be taking part in the Canstruction event being held at the Conestoga Mall. If you are interested in helping out with this, or if you want more information about any of the events listed above, check out our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/uwengsoc/.
