VP Student Life Nominations: Theresa DeCola

Hello! My name is Theresa, I am in my 1B term of Computer Engineering, and I would love to be your VP Student Life! In the past, I have been my class’s EngSoc rep, and I represented the University of Waterloo at the First Year Integration Conference. I am Currently on both the Council Review Committee, as well as the Leadership Award Committee. Beyond my involvement with EngSoc, I have had a lot of experience planning large events and workshops. In high school, I organized my school’s Relay for Lifeevent for over 100 individuals. I was also one of Microsoft’s YouthSpark advocates and had the opportunity to put together and present computer science and coding workshops for youth. If I were elected to be VP Student Life, I would love to work with you to create more of the events and workshops that people want to attend. While maintaining the current number of AutoCAD and programming-based workshops, I want to expand the number of workshops that focus on chemical, environmental, civil, and geological engineering topics, so that there is a more equal representation of all programs within the workshops. I also want to take feedback from students in all types of engineering to ensure that the events and workshops being put on are interesting and relevant. In conclusion, I love organizing events, I’m super enthusiastic, and I would love to be your VP Student Life!
